Welcome to my photo world!

I love photography and I love interacting with people. Currently I am the President of the Camera Club of Brevard located in Melbourne, Florida. With over 200 members, this club consists of photo enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. The interaction I have with like-minded individuals through workshops, monthly speakers and field trips is so rewarding. I see how this positive group energy is a tremendous benefit to all and creates a wonderful environment to share and learn.

I decided to create this fun and easy course because I see so many people shooting on AUTO and only getting average results. There is so much more digital photography can offer! Why buy an advanced digital camera for over $500 when all you do is “point & shoot”? \

I offer two classes:

FOTO.101 ~ Introduction to Digital Photography

FOTO.201 ~ Intermediate Digital Photography

The bottom line: I want to share my many years of photographic experience because I love people and I love teaching.

With a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Design, Art & Architecture at the University of Cincinnati and a Masters degree in Visual Communication from The Ohio State University, I have enjoyed a 40 year career in graphic design, printing and advertising.

I was a Contract Photographer for the Eastman Kodak Company from 1995-2009. In this capacity I provided Kodak with lifestyle images from Asia, Europe, Central and South America. The perspective you gain is truly amazing when walking the cities and villages of so many different cultures. It was in these streets, forests, fields, mountains, shores, backyards, temples, tourist traps and remote places that I realized my affinity for people of all colors and backgrounds.

Kodak assignments have allowed me to find these wonderful people and places and capture them; originally on film, but ultimately on a digital sensor. It is so cool to see an image I took in France displayed in a small camera shop in Argentina. The real “Kodak Moment” occurs when you take a photo of someone and immediately show them the image. This simple act of connecting and sharing has never ever failed to bring a smile, a laugh, a connection.

For a photographer, what can be better than that? FOTO.101 and FOTO.201 are designed to energize your photographic spirit. It's a pretty easy and fun way to make a casual interest in photography turn into a passion to capture life as you experience it.
